Аналіз тенденцій міжнародної готельної індустрії

Abstract

У статті досліджено готельну індустрію світу. У 2019 році по всьому світу налічувалось понад 700 000 готелів і курортів з більше ніж 16,4 млн. готельних номерів. За період 2008-2018 рр. проаналізовано динаміку рівня завантаження готелів, показника ціни за номер (ADR) та показника виручки номерного фонду за один номер (RevPAR). За досліджуваний період в середньому щорічно у регіоні Азія рівень завантаження готелів складав 67,47 %, у Європі – 66,64 %, у регіоні Середній Схід та Африка – 62,28 %, у регіоні Америка – 60,98 %. У 2008-2018 рр. показник середньої ціни за номер (ADR) складав в середньому щорічно у регіоні Середній Схід та Африка – 149,05 дол США, у Європі – 125,56 дол США, Азія – 112,52 дол США, у регіоні Америка – 114,10 дол США. У 2008-2018 рр. показник виручки номерного фонду за один номер (RevPAR) в середньому щорічно у регіоні Середній Схід та Африка – 92,22 дол США, у Європі – 85,04 дол США, Азія – 75,77 дол США, у регіоні Америка – 68,93 дол США.

The article explores the hotel industry in the world. There were more than 700,000 hotels and resorts worldwide in 2019, with more than 16.4 million hotel rooms. For the period 2008-2018, dynamics of hotel occupancy rate, average daily room rate (ADR) and revenue per available room per day (RevPAR) were analyzed. Over the study period, the average hotel occupancy rate in the Asia region annually was 67.47%, in Europe - 66.64%, in the Middle East and Africa region - 62.28%, in the Americas region - 60.98%. During the period under review, across all regions, there were two periods of rapid decline in hotel occupancy rates - in 2009 and 2018. In 2008-2018, the average daily room rate (ADR) in the Middle East and Africa annually was $ 149.05, in Europe was $ 125.56, in Asia was $ 112.52, and in the region of America was $ 114.10. Within monitoring ADR in all regions were observed increasing in 2009, and in 2014 there was a tendency for an overall decline, which extended in 2015. In 2008-2018, the average revenue per available room per day (RevPAR) annually in the Middle East and Africa region was $ 92.22, in Europe - $ 85.04, Asia - $ 75.77, in region of America - $ 68.93. The total value of the accommodation industry is estimated at $ 570 billion. More than 173 million people were employed in the hotel sector. The country with the highest ADR ($ 308 per night) is Switzerland, the city of Geneva. In London, ADR increased in 1.4% to £ 150.90. The average hotel occupancy rate in the UK (76 %) is higher than in USA (66.2 %). Approximately 41% of travelers book hotel rooms for business trips. 40% of business travelers stay for one night only, paying an average of $ 143 per room. 69% of business travelers book their flights and accommodation on their own, because employees prefer to choose their own flight time and desired hotel. Half of travelers with a leisure purpose stay only for one night, but they get a lower rate per room, with an average of $ 123. In the last few years, the concept of green living in the environment has grown tremendously and the hotel industry is no exception. 58% of travelers chose their hotel based on whether the hotel is eco-friendly.
