У статті проаналізовано вклад А. Кетле у розвиток теоретичних та методологічних основ статистики. Наведено ключові методологічні принципи дослідження соціальної статистики. Розглянуто основні наукові праці А. Кетле. Охарактеризовано стан кримінальної статистики Франції ХІХ ст. Виділено основні заслуги А. Кетле в теорії статистики.The contribution of A.
