Грецький етнос в Одесі: деякі аспекти історії та сучасного стану

Abstract

У статті висвітлюються деякі аспекти історії грецького етносу в Одесі та його сучасного стану. Розглядаються місце та роль грецької громади, її визначних представників у заснуванні, становленні та розвитку міста на Півдні України. Подаються особливості формування культури, соціально-економічних відносин в умовах поліетнічності краю. Аналізуються процеси життєдіяльності етнічних греків за імперської та тоталітарної доби, співвідношення їх досягнень і втрат у складних історичних реаліях. Пропонуються авторські узагальнення і висновки щодо збереження етнонаціональної та культурної багатоманітності регіону, використання позитивного досвіду минулого у новітньому державотворенні, зокрема в процесах європейської інтеграції України.

The article highlights some aspects of the history of the Greek ethnos in Odessa and its current situation. The place and role of the Greek community, its outstanding representatives in the foundation, formation and development of the city in the South of Ukraine are considered. The features of the formation of culture, socio-economic relations in the conditions of polyethnicity of the region are presented. The processes of vital activity of ethnic Greeks in the imperial and totalitarian era, the correlation of their achievements and losses in complex historical realities are analyzed. Authors' generalizations and conclusions regarding the preservation of ethno-national and cultural diversity of the region, the use of positive experience of the past in the newest state building, in particular, in the processes of European integration of Ukraine, are offered.
