Кроскультурні комунікації породжують безліч проблем, які обумовлені розбіжністю норм, цінностей, релігій, особливостей світогляду партнерів тощо. В процесі інтеракції від них неможливо позбавитись, тому успішність взаємодії залежить від досягнення згоди щодо правил і схем комунікації, які не порушують представники різних культур. Інтеракція являє собою безпосередньо міжособистісну взаємодію найважливішою особливістю якої є здатність людини «брати на себе роль іншої».
